Synopsis:

Life leads us to continuous change. In the search for balance, without overdoing or underdoing.

MESURA waits for you at different moments of life.

The movement reflects the image of the sea, when it is calm, calm, and also when the furious onslaughts break in without warning.

Mesura conveys the continuous transformation of the desperate seas that drag sad sorrows and make them move forward, sometimes automatically and sometimes more consciously.

It brings us a current of air that maybe suffocates but gives us back a fresh saltpeter aroma.

Dossier

MESURA' by RAQUEL FERRADÁS in Galicia Scene Pro 24, in the Praza de San Martiño Pinario makes me think again about that unique and incredible relationship that contemporary dancers have with the ground, even if it is made of hard stone. Raquel debuts with this solo in which the tension of waiting causes the monumental environment where she dances to transform into a sea, a ship, a bird, an angle that derives the circle from the repetition of gestures that seems to stop time. Here is the suspension of waiting, not only in the call, but also in the circular routines of repetition. But above all, for me there is the young woman, the qualities, the beauty and the power of her movement and the expression of her. An enormous force, I would say volcanic, which, however, does not manifest itself through staccatos or a segmented or emphatic or violent articulation, but quite the opposite. There is softness, delicacy, fluidity, wrapping... and yet enormous strength.
